Sensor Architecture

Sensors are lightweight agents that run on your infrastructure and execute scans locally, sending results back to the HarborGuard platform.

Why Sensors?

  • Air-gapped environments — Scan images that cannot leave your network
  • Data sovereignty — Image data never leaves your infrastructure
  • Compliance — Meet requirements that prohibit sending images to third-party services

How It Works

  1. The sensor registers with HarborGuard and sends periodic heartbeats
  2. When a scan job is assigned, the sensor claims it atomically
  3. The sensor pulls the image, runs the scanner suite, and uploads results
  4. Results are ingested by HarborGuard as if the scan ran in the cloud
